Alhaji Mukhtar Shehu Shagari, nephew of former President Shehu Shagari and former Deputy Governor of Sokoto State has been appointed as the new board Chairman of National Inland Waterways Authority (NIWA) by President Tinubu Chairman in President Bola Tinubu.
President Tinubu has moved the former NIWA board chairman, Hon. Musa Sarkin Adar from heading agency to become the new Executive Secretary of Nigeria Extractive Industries Transparency Initiative (NEITI).
Mukhtar Shagari is a politician and former Water Resources Minister, as well as former Deputy governor of Sokoto state and nephew of Nigeria’s first civilian President Shehu Shagari.
