The Tin Can Island Port Command of the Nigeria Customs Service, in its first quarter( January – March) 2025 revenue report has recorded tremendous success by collecting a total of ₦347,935,672,476.00k which is 12.6% higher than the ₦304,000,000,000.00k collected in the same period of 2024.
The breakdown of the revenue collection shows the Command generating a total of ₦116, 412,735,766.23 in January 2025, which represents 24.06% over and above the figure of ₦88, 430,126,122.76 recorded within the corresponding period of 2024. In February, ₦103,254,292,839.23k was generated which is also 2.90 % over and above the sum of ₦100,253,187,074.72k generated in the corresponding month in 2024. While, in March the sum of ₦128,268,749,635.00k was collected which is 10.3% higher than the ₦115,100,000,000.00k collected in March 2024.
The Customs Area Controller of the Command, Comptroller Frank Okechukwu Onyeka in deploying the Comptroller-General of Customs, Adewale Adeniyi’s policy trust of consolidation, collaboration and innovation in carrying out his functions at the Command is yielding positive results.
Comptroller Onyeka on assumption of duty at the Command in December 2024 has held several collaborative meetings with various stakeholders to harp on the need for them to be more honest in their declarations to allow seamless operational environment.
He promised to continue to engage stakeholders in all ways possible so that there will be an all round improvement in all aspects of Customs operations.
