Maritime Journalists Group Honours, Comptrollers Olomu, Nnadi , Others for Excellent Performance

The Association of Maritime Journalists of Nigeria (AMJON) 2024 Annual Conference and awards is scheduled to hold on Thursday, December 12, 2024 at the Rockview Hotel Apapa, Lagos State, from 10am.

This year conference is conveying awards on two outstanding Customs officers who have shown exceptional performance in discharging their functions at the two major ports in Nigeria, the Apapa Port Customs Command and the Tin Can Island Port Customs Command.

AMJON after monitoring the performance index of the Nigeria Customs Service (NCS), vis -a-vis its Commands, Units , as well as officers in their various duty posts have agreed to honour Comptroller Dera Nnadi mni as the ” MOST OUTSTANDING CUSTOMS AREA CONTROLLER OF THE YEAR, while the Apapa Customs Command will be awarded, ” MOST OUTSTANDING CUSTOMS COMMAND IN REVENUE GENERATION / TRANSFORMATION.

Others are two outstanding female practitioners in the industry, Mrs Temilade Ogunniyi and Mrs Nwaeze Theodora who have also shown exceptional performance in their various functions in the Nigerian Maritime industry and beyond

Other awardees include, the Nigerian Shoppers’ Council (NSC) as “Most Transformed Maritime Agency of the year”, John Okpono Secretary General of NMNOWTSSA, Mohammed Aminu Abubakar, Commander , NDLEA, Kaduna State among others.

Leveraging on the theme of the lecture, Ogbuokiri revealed that it will educate participants and stakeholders on the activities of government and its agencies in actualising the potentials, prospects and opportunities which abound in the Blue Economy sector.
