The Nigeria Immigration Service ( NIS) has said that its intercepted one Okuneye Idris Olanrenwaju popularly known as Bobrisky on Monday in an attempt to exit the Country through the Seme Border post in Badagry of Lagos State.
Bobrisky a popular and controversial cross- dresser, has been in the news of recent bordering on his prison jail term , which has pitched him/ her against Very Dark Man (VDM) over allegations of bribing EFCC Officials and Nigerian Correctional Service personnel during his/ her time in prison custody.
According to a press statement E- signed by DCI KT Udo , Service Public Relations Officer, Bobrisky is a person of public interest, as such the Service intercepted him at Seme Border in an attempt to exit the Country.
The NIS statement reads ” In keeping with its commitment of securing the borders , Nigeria Immigration Service ( NIS) intercepted Okuneye Idris Olanrenwaju otherwise known as Bobrisky at the Seme Border over an attempt to exit the Country.
” The Service wishes to inform the public that, Okuneye Idris is a person of interest over recent issues of public concern . He is undergoing interrogation and will be handed over to the appropriate authorities for further action.
” The Service assures the public that it will continue to be civil and professional in its statutory responsibilities of manning the country’s border”, the statement said.
Our source from the Seme Border hinted that Bobrisky was intercepted when he/ she sent his Passport through someone for stamping by the the NIS, as Bobrisky remained in the Car. But on asking for the identity of the owner of the passport, it was discovered that is Bobrisky with male names, but dressed in female attire.
On interrogation, Bobrisky claimed that he/ she is going across to visit a friend. After the NIS officials intercepted him/ her. He/ she was initially to be taken to Abuja, but was returned to the border for further interrogation. He/ She has been taken into custody at the NIS Zonal office in Lagos State.
