The Nigerian National Petroleum Company Limited (NNPCL) has released an estimated Pump Prices of Premium Motor Spirit (PMS) from Dangote Refinery, based on September 2024 pricing index.
The NNPC Ltd estimated prices of Premium Motor Spirit (PMS), also known as Petrol (obtained from the Dangote Refinery) in its retail stations across the country shows that in Lagos State NNPCL Filling Stations will sell petrol at N950.22 per litre.
According to the new price index as contained in a press statement signed by Olufemi Soneye, Chief Corporate Communications Officer NNPC Ltd, Abuja on 16th September, 2024, it shows that NNPCL bought PMS from the Dangote refinery at N898.78.
A graphical map of its selling price across the country indicates that , NNPCL Filling Stations will sell PMS in Lagos at N950.22 per litre, in Oyo N960.22. in Rivers , Imo and other South South and South East States, it will sell at N980.22. While in North West and North Central States of Sokoto, Kano, Kaduna and others it will sell at N999.22. The North Eastern states of Borno and others will buy PMS at the highest cost of N1,010.22 per litre.
The statement said “The NNPC Ltd also wishes to state that, in line with the provisions of the Petroleum Industry Act (PIA), PMS prices are not set by Government, but negotiated directly between parties on an arms length.
“The NNPC Ltd can confirm that it is paying Dangote Refinery in USD for September 2024 PMS offtake, as Naira transactions will only commence on October 1st, 2024.
“The NNPC Ltd assures that if the quoted pricing is disputed, it will be grateful for any discount from the Dangote Refinery, which will be passed on 100% to the general public.
“Attached to this statement are the estimated pump prices of PMS (obtained from the Dangote Refinery) across NNPC Retail Stations in the country, based on September 2024 pricing.”
