Less than 24 hours to the much awaited Association of Nigerian Licensed Customs Agents (ANLCA), Board of Trustees (BOT) election, the National Publicity Secretary ( NPS) , Emmanuel ONYEME has commended the efforts of the Association Electorial Commission (ASECO) so and urged them to mentain their integrity for a hitch free election.
ONYEME in a chat with Roamrepporters Online on Wednesday said the ASECO has tried their best in making sure the election holds despite all odds. He said he is optimistic that the ASECO will stick to the ANLCA constitution and their set out guidlines to make sure the election goes smoothly without any rancour or favoritism.
” I want to commend the ASECO so far for what they have done to make sure the election holds. But I want to charge them to stick to the rules , the ANLCA constitution and their guidelines, without fear or favour.
” ANLCA just came out from crises , which was from the BOT, so we expect them to quence that crises by conducting a free, fair and credible election, so that we will not have any crises after the election. By doing this they will write their names in gold as those who change the narratives in ANLCA BOT election, which over the years has been the genesis of ANLCA crises”.
The ANLCA spokesman also call on their members to vote for the best candidates who will represent the association well in the board.
” This is the first time ANLCA BOT election is peg only for Directors of license companies, I commend the ASECO, let them stick to that, no proxy. Is a good thing that only the Directors should elect their BOT members. With this most of us will see ourselves as bonafide owners of the association and we must vote the right choices to represent us.
” Am optimistic that with this arrangement, the election will be free, fair and credible and the right candidates will emerge as winners”, the NPS said.
The much awaited ANLCA BOT election is taking place tomorrow, Thursday , September 12th, 2024 simultaneously at the Western, Eastern and Northern zones. The Western Zone which has the largest number of voters will take place at Federal Palace Hotel, Victoria Island, Lagos State.
