Barely a month after assumption of office as the Managing Director of the Nigerian Ports Authority (NPA) , Dr Abubakar Dantsoho has redeployed all port managers across the country.
According to a memo from the NPA, the redeployment of the Port Managers and appointment of new ones is in a bid to enhance operational efficiency across all seaports in the country. The restructuring, which takes immediate effect, aims to boost productivity and improve service delivery.
According to a memo dated August 14, 2024 signed by the NPA Managing Director, Dr Abubakar Dantsoho, the new port managers will assume duties on Monday, August 19, 2024.
The newly appointed port managers are,: Mr Adebowale Lawal Ibrahim as Port Manager of Apapa Port Complex; Mr Abubakar Sanni Isa as Port Manager of Tin Can Island Port; Mr Abdulraman Husaini as Port Manager of Onne Port in Rivers State and Mr Sa’adu Dahiru Mohammed as Port Manager of Delta Port.
Others are, Mr Emmanuel Anda, Port Manager of Lekki Port; while , Mrs Kenechi Edith Okezie retained her position as Port Manager at Rivers Port in Port Harcourt. Mr Ekine Ibafiri Alex is the new Port Manager of Calabar Port .
The outgoing Port Managers affected by the restructuring have been directed by the Managing Director to report to the Executive Director (Marine and Operations) immediately.
They are, Dr Okaga Charles Bamidele (Lagos Port Complex); Sylvester Egene (Tin Can Island Port); Teslim Bamidele Makanjuola (Delta Port); Olumati Ikechi Festus (Calabar Port) and Aliyu Abubakar (Lekki Port).
