Contrary to the antics of some alleged mischief makers in working relationship with the Association of Nigerian Licensed Customs Agents (ANLCA) present national leadership to destabalise the peaceful operating environment which has been enjoyed over the

years at the Murtala Mohammed Airport Cargo Chapter, Ikeja, Lagos. ANLCA members and other stakeholders have cried out rejecting their antics, saying they are never trouble makers.

“We are not trouble makers at MMAC. Those so-called leaders have destroyed their own chapters, where they all belong. No remittance coming from those chapters for good five years. The same NECOM is taking advice from such elderly people” a Chieftain of ANLCA at the Airport lamented.

Another source said “The office ( ANLCA Chapter Chairman office) remains closed despite the court order. The same NECOM is holding on to the payment of the Chapter welfare, including the other association’s welfare, without being a party to the chapter agreement. ANLCA constitution allowed every chapter to generate its revenue the way it wants”, this source cried out.

Our investigation reveals that since the crises erupted at MMAC Chapter over the illegal inauguration of the Tope Akindele Executives to takeover from a duly elected Executives in office led by Prince Bagmibala Adewusi, despite pending two court appeals, there have been several twists deployed by the ANLCA National President Emenike Kingsley Nwokeoji to make sure the Adewusi team gives up their leadership.

Such efforts has , apart from bickering and infighting which the NECOM action has caused, the Chairman office has been under locked up to prevent breakdown of law and order in the chapter.

Another severe punishment mated to the chapter and other associations due to the crises was the blockage of the welfare packages extended to Clearing Agent Associations by corporate organizations operating at the airport.

The source said the ANLCA NECOM has written to these Corporate organizations to stopped the welfare packages over a month ago and this action also affects other associations operating at the Airport. “But thank God we have been able to resolve that, because the ANLCA NECOM has no right and powers to stopped or interfare in any chapter revenue or welfare packages, except the one due to the National, as stipulated in the ANLCA Constitution.”
