National Association of Freight Forwarders and Consolidators ( NAFFAC) on Friday conducted its National and Chapter election to elect both national and chapter officers to pilot the affairs of the association in the next four years.
Though, most the candidates were returned unopposed, the election was done peacefully under the supervision of the official of Council for Regulation of Freight Forwarding in Nigeria (CRFFN).
The election saw the NAFFAC members returning their National President, Prince Adeyinka Bakare for the second tenure of four years. He pulled a total of 26 votes. Others are National Vice President, Anthony Onyike, 19 votes, National Secretary, Alade Shabi, 26 votes, National treasurer , Iwuno Ignatius , 23 votes, National Financial Secretary, Pastor Adolphus Lucky, 24 votes and National Public Relations Officer, Alli Rotimi, 22 votes.
For the Muritala Mohammed Airport Chapter, Abdull Abu was elected Chairman with 42 votes, Neriki Momos , Vice Chairman with 31 votes , Confidence Ajayi was elected with 32 votes as Secretary and Omoroga Ojekun with 23 votes as Financial Secretary.
Others are Mordi Tony, Treasurer with 27 votes, Iwuno John, Chief Whip with 20 votes, Ilyas Mukail as Public Relations Officer with 27 votes and Aderonke Kesuinro , elected as Auditor with 28 votes.
Speaking to our Correspondent after the election, the re- elected National Secretary of the association, Alade Shabi said their re- election will bring in fresh ideas and service to members of NAFFAC. He commended the National President, Prince Adeyinka Bakare for his selfless leadership style and promised to work with him to make sure NAFFAC members reap the benefits of the association at all levels.
Also speaking, the National Financial Secretary, Pastor Adolphus Lucky said his re-election will bring more benefits to the members of NAFFAC, promising he will work with the National President to make sure welfare of members is well taking care of at all times.
Speaking on behalf of the newly elected Chapter officers , Confidence Ajayi, who came in as a female member , promised to play the role of a mother to all at both the chapter and National of the association. She said she will make sure all members are well taking care of as a mother in the association.
Akinlawon Isaac was the Chairman of the Electoral Committee, while Austin Eze act as the Secretary of the electoral commission.
NAFFAC is one of the active freight forwarding associations in the Nigerian maritime industry, with their strongest present at the Muritala Mohammed Airport, in Lagos .
